Meet the Team

Audrey Wubbenhorst is a professor and board director. She currently teaches public relations and corporate communications at Humber College where she has received several research grants. Prior to joining Humber, Audrey spent over a dozen years at BMO Bank of Montreal. She worked in a wide variety of roles including communications, marketing, human resources and commercial banking. She has served on several boards including Humber College, National Diabetes Trust (NDT), Central LHIN, Build Toronto, Toronto Community Housing Corporation and Ernestine’s Women’s Shelter. Audrey has an MA in Communications as well as an MBA. She graduated with a BA (Hons) from McGill University and has a certificate in Corporate Social Responsibility from St. Michael’s College (University of Toronto). She has also completed her ICD.D. designation with the Rotman School of Management.

James is a recent graduate from the Humber College Research Analyst Graduate Certification program. He also holds a BA (Hons) in International Studies from York University. James is a qualitative researcher and is a passionate storyteller for those in underrepresented communities. His research interests include the political economy, international relations, politics and making the world a fairer and just society through progressive policy initiatives. In his spare time, James enjoys photography, basketball, cycling, reading, and watching movies.

Patrycja is currently working toward her Research Analyst Certificate at Humber College and holds an Honours BSc in Psychology from the University of Guelph-Humber. As she begins her career in the research field, Patrycja aims to focus on developing her skills around social equality for marginalized groups and policy reform after having worked in the public sector for several years. She is driven by her research interests in community outreach, social policy, and conscious marketing.

With over 10 years of experience in economics, data analytics, and market intelligence, Anderson is a seasoned professional dedicated to helping organizations' decision-making through data-driven strategies. Specializing in financial services, CPG, and tech industries, he has extensive experience in translating complex issues into actionable insights. Holding an honours postgraduate in Global Business Management and a Master's in Economics, he combines a global perspective with a keen understanding of economic dynamics. His research interests include education, innovation, technology, and social impact — areas he believes are crucial for creating opportunities and reducing inequalities.

Lisa Post is actively pursuing her Bachelor of Community Development at Humber College and was elected Town Councillor in her hometown of Orangeville in 2018. In her role on Council, Lisa is the Chair of the Accessibility Committee, the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Committee and of the Cultural Plan Task Force and is Vice Chair of the Orangeville Public Library Board. Lisa lends her time to various organizations as a volunteer, fundraiser and/or board member including as Chair of the Board of Directors for Community Living Dufferin, Chair of the Lorne Scots Army Cadets Support Committee and Board Member for Community Safety Partners and is one of the founding organizers for Dufferin County’s first Pride Festival, Celebrate Your Awesome. Lisa is passionate about building inclusive and equitable communities and is honoured to be a part of this important research.

Andy is grateful to live on lands mutually covered by the Dish with One Spoon Wampum Belt Covenant and the Treaty Lands and Territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit, and home to many diverse nations from the Anishinaabe and the Haudenosaunee to the Métis. Andy is dedicated to promoting reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples in Canada and always looking to give back to the Indigenous community. Andy's experience is in social and marketing research, which he applies to understand all aspects of the Indigenous economy. He plays a critical role in managing and analyzing CCAB's data, providing both qualitative and quantitative insights. Andy also leads CCAB's research on innovation and disruption, helping to ensure that Indigenous Peoples are not left out of the discussions shaping our economy.

Lucas is a Trent University honours graduate with a Master of Arts in History. His research focuses are Canadian Politics/Policy/Procedure, Settler/Indigenous Relations, and western Canadian political development during the twentieth century. Lucas also completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in history, and a minor in Indigenous Studies prior to his time at graduate school. Throughout his various streams of employment at hospitals, municipal governments, and time at university, Lucas has become highly competent in tasks like research/data management/professional grade writing, public relations/community outreach, teaching, and critical problem analysis. Lucas is passionate and conscious about the issues faced by Indigenous peoples in Canada and strives to do meaningful work in this sector to better immerse himself in this important facet of Canadian society

Cody is a founding member of the Qalipu Mi’kmaq First Nation in Western Newfoundland. Currently, Cody is a fourth-year student at York University studying Political Science. His research focuses are Indigenous Politics, Political Theory, and Socio-Legal studies. Cody’s interest in Indigenous affairs began during high school after learning about aspects of his heritage and the many issues that Indigenous peoples face in Canada and internationally. In his work with the CCAB, Cody’s primary interest has always been community-based research, but he has also supported several projects relating to skills training and development, economic recovery, and aboriginal economic development corporations. Outside of his work and studies, Cody enjoys exercising, engaging in land-based activities, and reading.
